Understood.org: TME + Short Films
To build awareness, foster empathy, and reduce stigma around learning and thinking differences such as ADHD, Dyslexia, and Dyscalculia, this project advanced Understood’s mission to support parents, educators, and children through an immersive, multi-platform experience.
Interactive Platform:
I led cross-functional efforts to develop an interactive digital platform centered on the real lives of three children, each navigating a specific learning difference. Through simulation-based storytelling, users engage directly with daily challenges and moments of triumph, gaining firsthand insight into each child’s perspective. Each journey was paired with personal narratives and supported by curated resources and tools for families, educators, and allies.

Documentary Films:
To bring authenticity and emotional depth to the experience, I shifted our video strategy from in-studio production to a docustyle approach—filming on location with our three featured children to capture their environments, voices, and lived experiences. To scale our storytelling and remain within budget, I introduced the Cinebody platform, enabling six additional children and their families to self-film guided narratives using digital shotlists and prompts. This resulted in a total of nine authentic short films, each supported by minimal, unobtrusive graphics to let the stories speak for themselves.
